Tomsk is located in the southeast of the West Siberian Plain on the right bank of the river Tom. It is the oldest and largest Siberian educational, scientific, cultural and industrial center of Russia with a population of more than 500,000 inhabitants. In 2014, Tomsk celebrated its 410th birthday.

In 1991, Tomsk was assigned a status of a historical city. You can find unique architectural monuments here; some of them are more than 300 years old. Tomsk buildings are a mixture of architectural styles from different historical eras. The football team "Tom" gathers thousands of fans not only from Tomsk, but also from other parts of Russia at the "Trud" stadium.
