Program «Fundamentals of Public Speaking»

The culture of speech and public speaking is one of the most important components of the effective professional activity of a modern person who works in the field of communication.

The program "Fundamentals of Public Speaking" aims to improve:

• Communicative qualities of speech: correctness, accuracy, expressiveness;
• Means and technologies of successful verbal communication;
• Skills to orient in different situations of communication, taking into account the components of these situations (role characteristics of communicants, communication tasks, time and place of interaction, etc.);
• Public speaking skills to have the desired impact on the audience.

The goal of the program is to improve the general cultural and professional competences, study the peculiarities of effective speech activities, and communication skills for public speaking.

The program includes voice trainings and speech techniques (work with diction, intonation, tempo, loudness of sounds), use of gestures and facial expressions. Students study the most commonly used oral speech genres (dialogues, business communication, disputes, various types of speech), means of speech expression, and speech etiquette in different communication situations.

Scope of the program: The program workload is 36 hours. The period of its implementation is determined by the contract with the customer.

Document at the end: Students will get a certificate of professional development upon a successful completion of the program.
